UWG Carrollton , GA The Board of Regents and the University of West Georgia hired HWA to design a new 25,000sf facility to house West Georgia‘s sculpture, ceramics and printmaking programs. The building accommodates the Foundry, metal fabricating, wax working, mold making, wood, silk screening, letter press, and kiln studios. The new critique/gallery space at the entry, features a brick wall with bricks fired in the school's kilns by a collaborative effort with the art students and faculty.
The construction cost for the building was $103 per square foot, which even includes a craneway system for moving heavy objects through the building and a specialized filtration system to remove ceramic particulates from the air!
