
Smyrna, GA Saint Benedict’s Episcopal Church and School purchased a property in the Oak Dale neighborhood of northern Atlanta that included an existing historic church complex. In 2008, Houser Walker Architecture was hired to design and manage the conversion of the existing property to support a revamped sanctuary and new school buildings.

The renovated buildings will restore approximately 39,000 sf and house a fully renovated 1932 sanctuary, a new parish hall and space for the church administration. Following in the Episcopal tradition of Holy Innocents, Saint Martin’s and Saint Anne’s, then renovated facility will also become the home for the new private school Saint Benedicts Day School, which will serve children from 2 years old through 5th grade. Construction will be completed in 2009.
